Ingredients
  

Cake Batter

  • 1 cup unsalted butter room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • cup light brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp halal vanilla extract alcohol-free
  • ¾ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3⅔ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp kosher salt

Apple Filling

  • 3 cups diced apples peeled & cored
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

Crumb Topping

  • tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • ¼ cup chopped nuts optional, halal

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch pan.
  • Mix crumb topping ingredients until crumbs form. Set aside.
  • Cream butter and sugars until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla.
  • Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  • Add dry ingredients and milk/sour cream alternately to batter.
  • Toss apples with cinnamon and brown sugar.
  • Spread ⅔ batter in pan, add apples, top with remaining batter.
  • Sprinkle crumb topping evenly.
  • Bake for 50–60 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool completely before slicing.
