I make this banana bread recipe whenever my bananas are overripe. It is soft, moist, and naturally sweet. I love how easy it is because I don’t need any special equipment. This homemade banana bread is perfect for breakfast, tea time, or a light dessert.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 2⅓ cups mashed overripe bananas

Optional

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ cup chopped nuts walnuts or almonds

Instructions
 

  • I preheat my oven to 175°C (350°F).
  • I grease a loaf pan with butter.
  • In a bowl, I mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, I cream butter and brown sugar.
  • I add eggs and mashed bananas and mix well.
  • I slowly mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  • I pour the batter into the pan and smooth the top.
  • I bake for 50–60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • I let it cool before slicing and serving.
