Ingredients
  

Essential:

  • 2 cups cooked rice white or brown
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese or mozzarella/cheese blend
  • 1 tbsp butter or olive oil
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup milk or low-fat milk for lighter version
  • ½ cup cream optional, for extra creaminess
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika optional
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley or cilantro chopped (for garnish)

Optional Add-ins

  • Cooked chicken beef, or shrimp for extra protein
  • Steamed broccoli peas, or spinach for a healthy touch
  • Jalapeños or chili flakes for a spicy kick
  • Extra cheese on top for a gooey baked version

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Base: Heat butter/olive oil in a pan, sauté onion and garlic until golden.
  • Add Rice: Stir in cooked rice and mix well.
  • Cheese Sauce: Pour in milk, cream (if using), and shredded cheese. Stir continuously until cheese melts and coats the rice.
  • Seasoning: Add salt, pepper, and paprika to taste.
  • Finish & Serve: Garnish with parsley/cilantro. Serve hot as a main dish or a side.
