- 3/4 cup 168 g unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup 200 g brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup 50 g granulated sugar
- 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk room temperature
- 1 tablespoon alcohol-free vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 cups 220 g all-purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon sea salt plus extra for topping
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
In a bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until light and fluffy.
Add egg, extra yolk, and vanilla. Mix until combined.
In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, salt (and optional cornstarch/cinnamon).
Slowly mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients. Do not overmix.
Scoop dough into balls (about 2 tablespoons each) and place on tray.
Bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are golden and centers are soft.
