- 8 tbsp salted butter softened
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar packed
- 1 tsp halal vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 6.75 oz
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips or chunks halal-certified
Optional Ingredients
- 1 –2 tbsp milk softer cookies
- A pinch of cinnamon
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- Extra chocolate chunks for topping
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Beat butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Add egg and vanilla; mix well.
In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
Add dry ingredients to the wet mixture; mix just until combined.
Fold in chocolate chips (and optional add-ins).
Scoop dough onto the tray and bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are golden.
Cool for 5 minutes on the tray, then move to a wire rack.
