Ingredients
  

  • cups of fresh water filtered is always best!
  • 1 inch piece of fresh ginger peeled and thinly sliced or grated
  • 1 cinnamon stick or 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 2-3 bay leaves either fresh or dried work well
  • Optional: 1/2 lime or lemon sliced (for a zesty lift and added benefits)
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon of raw honey or pure maple syrup for a touch of natural sweetness, if you prefer

Method
 

  1. In a small pot, bring 1.5 cups of water to a gentle boil.
  2. Add 1 cinnamon stick and 1 slice of ginger (if using). Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat. Add 1 tsp herbal tea leaves and let it steep for 4–5 minutes.
  4. Strain the tea into a cup.
  5. Stir in 1 tsp fresh lemon juice and 1 tsp honey (optional).
  6. Add mint leaves for garnish and extra freshness.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy!
