- 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
- ½ lb halal smoked sausage beef or chicken
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 10 oz bag frozen seasoning mix (onion, bell pepper, celery)
- 1 15 oz can diced tomatoes
- ½ Tbsp Creole seasoning alcohol-free, halal
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ¼ tsp dried thyme
- Freshly cracked black pepper to taste
- 2 cups halal chicken broth
- 1 cup water
- 1 lb penne pasta uncooked
- 2 Tbsp half-and-half or cream
- ½ bunch fresh parsley chopped
- ½ bunch green onions sliced
Heat vegetable oil in a large deep skillet over medium-high heat.
Add sliced halal sausage and cook until browned on both sides.
Add garlic and frozen seasoning mix. Cook until vegetables soften.
Stir in diced tomatoes, Creole seasoning, oregano, paprika, thyme, and black pepper.
Pour in chicken broth and water. Bring to a gentle boil.
Add uncooked penne pasta and press it into the liquid.
Cover and simmer for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Turn off heat and stir in cream, parsley, and green onions.
Rest for 5 minutes, then serve hot.
