Essential:
- 2 apples sliced
- 8 cups apple cider
- 2 cups orange juice
- 1/3 cup lemon juice
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 15 whole cloves or ½ tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
Optional Add-ins:
- 1 tbsp light brown sugar optional
- 2 –3 star anise
- 1/2 cup fresh cranberries
- 2 tbsp honey
Wash and slice apples into thin rounds.
In a large pot, combine apple cider, orange juice, and lemon juice.
Add apples, cinnamon sticks, cloves, ginger, and nutmeg.
Simmer gently over medium-low heat for 30–45 minutes.
Taste and add sugar or honey if needed.
Strain for a smooth drink, or leave apple slices for rustic style.
Serve hot in mugs, garnish with cinnamon sticks or apple slices.
