Ingredients
  

Essential:

  • 2 apples sliced
  • 8 cups apple cider
  • 2 cups orange juice
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 15 whole cloves or ½ tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

Optional Add-ins:

  • 1 tbsp light brown sugar optional
  • 2 –3 star anise
  • 1/2 cup fresh cranberries
  • 2 tbsp honey

Instructions
 

  • Wash and slice apples into thin rounds.
  • In a large pot, combine apple cider, orange juice, and lemon juice.
  • Add apples, cinnamon sticks, cloves, ginger, and nutmeg.
  • Simmer gently over medium-low heat for 30–45 minutes.
  • Taste and add sugar or honey if needed.
  • Strain for a smooth drink, or leave apple slices for rustic style.
  • Serve hot in mugs, garnish with cinnamon sticks or apple slices.
